Cooling system maintenance (more formally known as HVAC maintenance, which is short for heating, ventilation, and air conditioning system maintenance) is much easier if you have a maintenance plan in place. AC cooling is an easy thing to take for granted until your system breaks down, but AC units need to be regularly maintained, like any of your household systems or appliances, to work properly. Though an AC system doesn’t have to be winterized like a swamp cooler (which has water running through hoses to and from it) there are still cleaning steps that should be taken regularly to keep your unit running steadily and efficiently.
For the best efficiency, a simple rule of thumb to remember is that temperature transfer is hampered by debris that prevents effective temperature exchange. This is true for the coils in the outside unit, which can get covered with dirt and plant material from being outside all year. These coils can’t perform their dual functions of removing heat and humidity from the air and releasing warm air from the system back outside as well when they are dirty.
Cooling system maintenance can also extend to the unit inside by making sure the filter is cleaned regularly and installed correctly to allow proper airflow, making sure cold air returns aren’t blocked, and getting ventilation cleaned so that cooled air can be conducted well through the system throughout your home.
Call Air Kool Heat & Air and we’ll take care of the cooling system maintenance plan for you so that your cold air keeps coming from just the push of a button according to plan.
